The method for achieving ideal occlusion

Abstract
When the axis transposition by using facebow transfer is implemented, it is difficult to harmonize the occlusal plane and the median sagittal plane of human body. Ignoring the assessment of symmetry of the entire dentition may cause the imbalance of right and left occlusal plane, jaw deviation, and smile line consequently. To solve these problems, a clinical study has been tried by using the Shilla system which enables the transposition of the upper cast based upon a median sagittal plane. However, by using the ordinary articulator which condylar path is fixed, we meet problems of unexpected eccentric occlusal interference to perform full mouth reconstruction. In this regard, we may concern about the technique which can produce the mutually protected occlusion with the optimum amount of disocclusion under the basis of ideal anterior guidance.
In this presentation the combined technique to establish optimum occlusal plane and mutually protected occlusion simultaneously by using the Shilla system and the Twin-Hoby articulator system.
